We were lucky enough during our trip to Hawaii to meet with the Tikimaster who took us to meet one of their master carver Kealoha from the Waianae valley.
When somebody is invited to a party in another person’s house, it is customary for Hawaiians to carry a food item like a dessert as a small gift to the party. The food offering in the party itself is part of the gift-giving culture. This had led to the donation of leftovers of party food items to homeless people. Similarly, whenever an individual of Hawaii returns from a trip, it is customary to bring back at least one or two gifts to family members and close friends and relatives. Such gifts are addressed by the Japanese word, ‘omiyage’, the Hawaiian term, ‘makana’, or the Samoan name, ‘oso’. At the same time, local Hawaiians will take local gifts or food items to friends and relatives in the places that they visit, when they travel out of Hawaii.
Another Hawaiian custom is to respond either with a gift or money when somebody offers a gift or does a service to you. Even if that person does not accept the money offered by you, you must at least make the offer. Hence, the practice of giving and accepting gifts is ingrained in the Hawaiian culture. At TikiMaster.com, we have made it our policy to help people follow this endearing tradition of offering Hawaiian gifts by providing them with the maximum variety of gift items and gift ideas.
TikiMaster.com initially conducted a detailed research in Hawaii on the various gift items and gift ideas that were available. A simple fact emerged that each supplier of gift products were offering only a limited number of items. Hence, a conscious decision was taken at TikiMaster.com that the maximum variety of gift products and gift ideas should be presented to the local people, as well as visitors from outside. In short, we concluded that TikiMaster.com must be a one-stop solution for all Hawaiian gift specialties. Hence, we first created several categories of gift ideas. These categories are:

My wife and I were actually surprised to see such a diversify collection of beach home decor products in Hawaii. While Hawaii is mostly known for his Tikis, we found that beach decor is not only within the continental US. Each piece was designed, hand carved and hand painted with great attention to details.
The great thing with beach decor is that it encompasses the Tikilifestyle, beach style of course but also cottage decor, coastal and somewhat nautical. The colors used for beach decor are more neutral, you may say pastel colors but we like foremost the weathered look of them.
This is were Beach-Signs.com exceeded our expectation with a great selection of vintage and weathered looking signs which happens to be brand new.
We received a warm welcome (Aloha) from the owners where we were able to visit their facility, we now officially have a room in our California house that is strictly decorated with beach signs and beach accessories.
Fijian masks are usually carved out of iron wood also known as Vesi wood. The wood is kept under ground for a few month to give it a natural black color, that’s how the carvings will come out after completion. The earthy red color masks have a red dirt stain added to them.
Fijian Tiki masks are very easily identifiable because often they will feature hand carved turtles, geckos, or ceremonial dancing knife also known as Nifo Oti.
